- An event for Social Sciences Researchers interested in contributing to the next Decade of the Ocean
Ocean University Initiative is taking the lead and is proposing an original event on the 5th and 6th November 2019 and gives to social science researchers the opportunity to share their views out in order to collectively define research priorities for the next Decade of Ocean for Sustainable Development as it’s proclaimed by UNESCO's Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission.
WHO IS THE EVENT FOR?
All social science researchers, including PhD students, interested to get involved in the definition/design/preparation of the Decade.
HOW WILL IT WORKS?
The two days will be organized into plenary sessions on several themes. There will be presentation times with testimonies from personalities, research talks in 3 minutes and collaborative working times (per groups, on the wall, etc.). Each participant will be invited to participate in workshops, facilitated by a moderator and a rapporteur, discussing different questions previously defined by the scientific committee. The goal of the conference is to transform social science knowledge into action for a more sustainable ocean by 2030.

On 5 and 6 November 2019 at the Le Quartz congress center in Brest.
