      • Towards the development of a European Research Infrastructure for the development of Renewable Marine Energies
      • Since 2011, Europe has been supporting the development of Renewable Marine Energies through various projects, in particular the MaRINET (FP7) and MaRINET2 (H2020) projects, which aim to accelerate the industrial deployment of marine energy converters through actions to support experimental research and access to dedicated research infrastructures.

Given the interest generated by these initiatives, particularly among industrialists, the leaders of the MaRINET and MaRINET2 projects have decided to set up a structuring approach aimed at ensuring the sustainability of this action to support the development of MREs, through the construction of a Distributed Research Infrastructure on a European scale. This approach, established within the framework of the programmes set up by the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI), is supported in France by the THeoREM National Research Infrastructure, which currently brings together the hydrodynamics research resources of IFREMER and the Ecole Centrale de Nantes.

The objective of this Marinerg-I day is to present to the various stakeholders in the field of MRE the long-term development objectives of the Pan-European Research Infrastructure Marinerg-I as well as the approach implemented at national level around the THeoREM Research Infrastructure.
