      • The 13th Meeting of the GSO will be hosted by France, the year that France chairs the G7. The meeting will be held in Roscoff from the 3rd to 6th June 2019. It will be organized by the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, with the support of the Roscoff Marine Station and the Campus mondial de la mer. It is by invitation only and is limited to the European Commission secretariat, Senior Officials, designed experts and support staff.

The Group of Senior Officials (GSO) on Global Research Infrastructures (GRIs) was established following the G8 Science Ministers’ meeting in Okinawa in 2008. The inaugural meeting was held in March 2011 and since then the work of the group has included designing a framework that highlights key criteria for Global Research Infrastructures (GRIs) to address, identifying GRI case studies, and exploring good practices for GRIs.

The Campus mondial de la mer research centers possess wide-ranging research-oriented and innovative infrastructures that will enhance the debate of the GSO. A particular emphasis will be put on the French management of Research Infrastructures, with the regular update of its roadmap.

During the one-day visit the 30 experts will have the opportunity to see 4 research infrastructures in the field of environmental sciences, with a strong innovation aspect:

        • International RI: ARGO (Plouzané)
        • European RI: EMBRC (Roscoff)
        • French-Italian RI: CONCORDIA (Plouzané)
        • French RI: French Oceanographic Fleet (Plouzané)

The Campus mondial de la mer contribution to this event is part of an action plan dealing with research infrastructures and facilities. In 2018, the Campus mondial de la mer launched a web portal which is a showcase of its facilities: https://www.infras-campusmer.fr/en
